    Server Installation by RBS Technicians

    Save time and money! This is the quickest way to start your Remote Backup service. RBS can have you ready to take backups with your own customized RBS Server in about an hour!

    With your permission, RBS Technicians will take control of your RBS Server computer to install and configure your RBS Software and all your plugins. We will install and configure the software you purchase, including your default Client installer. You will be ready to do backups and restores in about an hour.

    Note: You can do ALL of this installation, configuration and customization yourself, and you can easily modify anything we do for you during our installation. All versions of RBS Remote Backup Software come standard with the tools you need to fully customize your software.

    Installation service includes:

  • Configuration of the EMail settings using the default emails.

    Web PlugIn Installation Service

    The Free Installation service provided with some RBS software packages includes installing the purchased software only. It does not include installing or configuring any of the Prerequisites. The Web Manager and E-Commerce PlugIns are web based, and require the installation and configuration of a web server (Internet Information Server), an SSL certificate, .NET framework, and other Microsoft products. RBS technicians can do this work for you.

    The Web Manager and E-Commerce PlugIns require the following prerequisites. To find out how to check for these prerequisites, see "How to Check for Prerequisites" section in the Installation chapter of the documentation for the Web Manager and E-Commerce PlugIns.

  • Internet Information Server installed
  • ASP.NET enabled
  • MS .NET framework versions 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 installed
  • (If the RBS Server uses the SQL Server PlugIn) SQL Management Studio Express installed
  • SSL Certificate installed (E-Commerce PlugIn only. You must purchase this from an SSL authority.)

    Basic Customization Service

    RBS can customize your software for you. Our Basic Customization Service includes (among other things) changing the name of the software to your own, adding your own company name to various parts of the program, setting various defaults, and changing some of the text and the behavior of the Client Installer.

    Basic Customization Service includes:

  • Customize the name of the software
  • Customize titles of the Shortcuts
  • Customize the name of the Program Folder
  • Customize the URL of the Add/Remove Programs
  • Set Backup Set schedule defaults

    Advanced Customization Service

    Advanced Customization includes all of the Basic Customization features plus creating new icons and graphics for the program from your logo, adding your own End User License Agreement and other more advanced features of the software's installation and operational features. Advanced Customization almost completely changes the RBackup Client software to appear as your own software, all but elliminating Remote Backup Systems' name.

    Advanced Customization Service includes all the Basic Customization Service options PLUS:

    Requirements:

  • Administrative access to your RBS Server computer using our Remote Access program or Remote Desktop.
  • If we are installing the Mirror Server, we need all the same access to your Remote Mirror Computer.
  • Accessibility to your RBS Server's Router and Firewall, or to an Administrator who can make changes if necessary.
  • For the Online Installer, we will need full FTP access to the directory on the web site on which you will host your Online Installer.
  • Telephone contact during installation with any Administrators who might need to give us access to any network resources we need for installation, and answer any questions we might need answered.
  • Telephone contact with the owner of the RBS Server (you).
